My client are a specialist Lloyd's of London Insurance Syndicate and have a well-established, diversified and flexible underwriting business, and are highly regarded as experts in their field. Due to their success and growth, they currently have a requirement for a highly competent Senior .NET developer who will work as part of a professional and growing IT department.
A must have for this role is that the ideal candidate will need to be able to demonstrate in-depth experience of the full software development life cycle gained working on multi-tier/distributed Object Oriented Windows based development environments. Knowledge of Web based technologies/development would be an added advantage.
The candidate must also be able to demonstrate good understanding of structured methodologies and best practices covering the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), such as, OMG Unified Process (UP), Test Driven Development (TDD), N-Tier Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Message-Based Services, Design Patterns and Continuous Integration and Testing environments and your CV should be structured in a way to draw attention to these.
Essential skills for this role include knowledge of the full software development life cycle, Web Services (SOAP based), MS VS Team Foundation Server/Team Suite, VB.NET & C#, Winforms/Webforms, SQL Server 2005 as well as experience of working on enterprise scale solutions. The role will involve development work on Transactional Underwriting Systems as well as developing and supporting new and existing systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience and a good track record for designing and analysis as you will be working various stakeholders at different levels.
