Web Designer UI/Front Designer
Permanent, £24K + Benefits, Chelmsford, Essex, Ref: LL/ESSEX

My client is a leading digital Web design agency based in Essex (Chelmsford) and due to their success and rapid expansion, they are seeking to recruit a UI /Front End/Web Designer who will work within a team environment delivering cutting edge Web-based solutions working specifically on Front End design projects.

The ideal candidate must be able to present a good list of sites and be able to demonstrate competence with MYSQL access, delivery of data to Web client, compliant code production and all usual elements of a dynamic Website. 

The client deals with a lot of data feeds in XML so being able to use the XML components of PHP for parsing, storage and display of XML data is essential.

The ideal candidates should have solid Front End/Web design experience including:

  • Knowledge of Web Markup or Scripting languages - HTML, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Experience with desktop publishing/imaging applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Fireworks) for use in creating Web optimised graphics.
  • Experience and understanding of Website architecture, user experience, colour theory and colour management on the Web, correct file formats, compression methods and techniques.

Training will be given, but an artistic flair is a must. The role involves working on print and Web design for many different aspects of the client's product line, hence an aptitude and a talent for creative design is essential.
